Stephane Wantz Cremant Rosé
Stephane Wantz Cremant Rosé
The glass exudes a rich aromatic composition of ripe strawberries, cream, brioche and cherries. On the palate, the Rose has a fine mousse and appears creamy and intense. However, the wine leaves the palate with a decidedly fresh, invigorating finish.

It's hot. I'm certainly not telling you anything new, but this week has set new standards. We are experiencing the last days of the hottest June ever and that should make us think. However, if there's one thing you can't do in this heat, it's reflect. Besides, we need different wines for the hot days. Wines that make us feel exhilarated and refreshed. So, of course, I have just the thing in store.
The Wantz family's winemaking roots go back to the 16th century. They came to Alsace from Austria and settled in picturesque Mittelbergheim. There are many wine cellars in the narrow streets of the small town and around them the vines grow on calcareous soils. Today, the winery is run by Stephane Wantz, who makes very good wines here with Alsatian grape varieties.
However, there is one wine that I have always particularly enjoyed here, and that is the Rosé Cremant. It's a sparkling wine made from one hundred percent Pinot Noir and aged on its lees for over a year. It is always fruity and aromatic, with very clear Pinot notes. On the palate it leaves a great freshness and is the ideal companion for warm summer evenings.
