Drinking games were probably invented thousands of years ago, shortly after the discovery of alcohol. One of the best-known historical drinking games is Kottabos, in which the last sip of wine from the drinking bowl was thrown in a high arc at a target. Today, people are more likely to play beer pong or Looping Louie when binge drinking - but if you want to drink a playful wine in style, you should stick to Kottabos.

Neal Martin wrote the following about the Kottabos for Vinous: "The 2023 Grenache-Syrah Kottabos is a blend of 74% and 26% respectively, with the Grenache whole-bunch-pressed and aged in concrete and the Syrah done in older French oak barrels. This has an exquisite, rose-petal-infused bouquet with Morello cherry and raspberry, very well defined and transparent."

Aromas of cherry, redcurrant and herbs emerge from the glass. On the palate, the wine is lean and playful, with fine tannins, moderate acidity and a fresh finish.
