I've written about La Ca Nova in Barbaresco many times in recent weeks, so I'll keep it brief. The wine I'm talking about today comes from the Montestefano estate's prime vineyard. This cru produces hedonistic Barbarescos that are accessible a little earlier. However, the wine will still be enjoyable for about 10 years.

Antonio Galloni wrote about this vintage: The 2022 Barbaresco Montestefano is superb. A dark, mysterious wine, the 2022 presents an exotic mélange of dark blue/purplish fruit, lavender, mint, spice, licorice, leather, and graphite. More than anything else, I am impressed by how much site character is present.

The Montestefano smells of cherries, blackberries, and licorice. On the palate, it is intense with fine tannins, great concentration, and a very long finish.
