Old vines, vieilles Vignes and old vines - what's behind them? As vines grow older, they work carefully and evenly. They are largely unaffected by capricious weather and drought and instead of producing a lot, they strive for quality. This means that wine from old vines is generally better than wine from young vines. There are few grape varieties where this effect plays a greater role than with good old Pinot Noir.

That is why the Pinot Noir from today's mailing is simply called Alte Reben, named after the vines that are over 40 years old and are responsible for the grapes. Peter Wagner has once again teased the best out of the wine in 2019, combining power with elegance and demonstrating why Peter is one of Baden's greatest talents. Others are now also aware of this, which is why the wine is limited and there is no supply.

Aromas of raspberries, cherries and blackberries combine with subtle spicy notes in the glass. On the palate, the wine is intense and rich with fine tannins and a looong finish.
