2021 Arco Rosso del Veronese
2021 Arco Rosso del Veronese
Notes of ripe cherries, cocoa and black tea emerge from the glass. On the palate, the wine is juicy and rich with great density and a fresh finish.
90/100 points Konstantin Baum
91/100 points Vinous (for the 2020)
It's finally really cold out there. It was necessary, because the frost loosens the soil, allows the vines to rest and then the cold also gets to some pests. So most wineries can confidently look to the future with the wisdom: “The colder and brighter January, the better the barn and barrel”.
But you probably see things quite differently as you scrape your windshield clear in the morning with your head down and then make your way home on slippery roads. Your fingers are slowly freezing and you can't even feel your ears anymore as you struggle to open the front door lock. What you need then is a de-iced wine to warm you up by the fire. And I have just the right one for you.
Luca from Arco in Veneto has once again produced wonderful wines in 2021. Luca learned his craft from Giuseppe Quintarelli, the old master of Amarone, and is now one of the best in Veneto. His Ripasso is one of the most popular wines at Baum Selection and now I'm sending the little brother after it. The Rosso is not made from dried grapes, but from 100% ripe, fresh fruit. It should warm your heart, because the cold should stay outside. It's more needed in the vineyard anyway ...
