2019 Sainte Croix Mille Ciels
The wine smells of grated apple, yeast, herbs, and lemon. It is complex on the nose and tense on the palate, with lots of freshness and power.

I liked this white wine immediately. It was fresh, spicy, and above all, unique...
Mille Ciels is the name of a small, high-altitude plot in the Corbière region. Here, century-old Terret Gris vines grow on limestone. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented spontaneously in large glass bottles. The winemakers Jon and Elizabeth couldn't fill a barrel with the tiny yields, so they use these admittedly unusual containers for this unusual wine.
I had actually toyed with the idea of keeping the tiny allocation for myself. But wine is more fun when you share it with good people ...
